It is written in php3 and uses a Database server (actually, Mysql and Postgresql are supported). It can add documents of these several types : web url magazine audio cd video cd uploaded documentations etc... You can upload files to phpDocServ, so everybody can access them after. They can be archives (.tar.gz, .zip) that will be uncompressed or simples files (pdf, txt,...) The server tree is dynamically generated, so themes reflect the reality of your documents base. Addons and modifications can need administrator validation (see INSTALL file). Security is done with Apache (.htaccess files). People have access to the documentation server with a password. Their rights depend on their group appartenance They can : create documents modifiy or delete documents without administrator validation modify or delete documents with administrator validation The phpDocServ administrator has its own web interface to accept or refuse validation of documents (creation or modification).
